- lip SYNCING not singing. Lip singing doesnt make sense at all. Lip syncing is synchronizing your lips to go along with audio.
- I definitely noticed that right away! Why did she have to lip synch?! Very disappointed.
- No I thought she did a great job!
- I didn't watch her lips if you know what I mean. Damn she is bad!
- I dont think she was lip syncing, there were numerous times that the audio didn't sync up with the video. It's possible that happened during the anthem. And it sounded like Jordin Sparks and it was a good rendition. Hats off considering it was in her home state.
- it didn't look like she was lip syncing to me. maybe i just didn't pay close enough attention. I think she has a beautiful voice, but that wasn't my fav rendition of the national anthem. oh well though.
- I noticed it and was disappointed. Why not just have a DJ do the national anthem? Sad really sad.
- i dont think she did.theirs always a delay on when you hear it cause it bounces of the walls of stadium.thats why thhey wear ear pieces to hear themselves.instead of just listening to it.cause it does delay.it always looks like their doing that.....plus i really dont think she would do that knowing the cameras would be in her face like that...she did awsome we loved it...
- Good money says every Super Bowl national anthem the past 20 years was lip synched.
- Yes, of course it's lip synced! ALL Super bowl entertainment is synced to a tape and timed perfectly. Right down to the drums, even Tom Petty. There is a great book out there called "The Making of the Super Bowl" by former NFL director Don Weiss, and on p. 204 he will support this claim. "Ever since 1993 the Anthem as been pre recorded". You can read this part of the book online at Google Books. Or check out this blogger podiumspeak.blogspot.com It's not up to the performer - it's NFL policy.
- An update for all of you we now have a definitive answer. I am here in NY and was listening to the Z100 radio station on my way to work. They had Jordin Sparks on the aire. I already knew she was lip-syncing and thought she either wouldnt admit to it or that legally she couldnt admit to it. To my surprise she admitted that for legal purposes they made her lip-sync. They didnt want to risk it being messed up. So though was lip-syncing, we cant look down on her for it as she had no choice in the matter. It seems to have become policy when it comes to the National Anthem at large sporting events.
