I personally think it's about a girl who was in love with someone yet something happened between them. They tried getting back together but it didn't work out because she realized her heart wasn't no longer broke because she had moved on yet there's something that's still keeping her held back. Whether it's a memory or something more. Like in my case a child. It's a memory that'll never go away like a tattoo.

Hm...i think that something happened between them because it says "everytime i bleed" like everytime something went wrong and she got hurt and she realizes that she cant keep living that way so she sais she has a new direstion, that shes moving on but that he will always be a part of her and she will always remember him..thats my point of view. but this is a really good song.
